The Internet never ceases to amaze me; You can actually listen to the police channels in New Orleans via a stream on Shoutcast.

You need to have Winamp (www.winamp.com) installed, if you click on this link you can then download the playlist file, then load this as a playlist and then choose a feed from the playlist window. It took a few mins for the stream to work for me but now you can hear whats going on out there.

There will be alot of silence at times but you can hear the challenges that are facing the area first hand.
